Due to an overwhelming amount of emails (over 100 each day) I am afraid that anyone wanting a lookup from me should now follow these steps, otherwise I am considering removing all the lookups that I personally offer. Please note: If you fail to follow my guidelines I will not reply to your request as I am wasting many hours each day just answering people who send insufficient information ... or people who request too much info & for a wide area. (1) Please send the resource name/details when you make a request & make sure the resource & place is listed below. I seem to be spending h
alf of my day replying to people who have not checked the list properly. So please make sure the place & date is covered. (2) Please request details for one event/person at a time. I am also getting dozens of people asking if I can send 'All information regarding one SURNAME in one village or area'. As from now, I will only do specific requests. You should supply the full name if known. Furthermore do not send multiple requests at any one time as I do spend many hours each day doing unpaid work ... to be fair to everyone, and to me, only send one request per day. The lookups pages include a list of records, from which people have kindly agreed to conduct free lookups searches of records in their possession. However, due to copyright they cannot supply duplicates or photocopies. If you would like them to conduct a look-up / search for you - please supply the contact with as much information as possible; include the name of the indi
vidual, the town & county to be searched... as many researchers have records for more than one county... & state the name of the resource you would like to be searched. Please do not ask for multiple records/sources to be searched at the same time - or ask for one name blanket searches in one place as it would take far too long, and refusal often offends. If you require mulitiple searches please ask for one record, wait for a reply & then make a second request. Do not bombard the researcher with three or four emails as it will result in a refusal. Please take the time to read the full information given on each county lookups page. Please make sure that the record &
place (that you want) is actually listed, don't waste valuable time asking for a lookup which is not available. |
